I’m Jane. A 30-something mom to two daughters and spouse to a pilot. I’m an engineer by degree, an educator at heart, and have a passion for travel. I’m a Type-A personality driven by logic and research and often approach life in this way. I don’t dare call myself an expert at anything, but I'm a life long learner and love to share what I’ve learned when it comes to parenting, traveling, and stepping out of my comfort zone. I do this a lot since our family relocates every few years and I usually end up reinventing myself every time. I’m American and have lived around the USA in Minnesota (born and raised!), Florida, Texas, Arkansas, the Washington D.C area, and also internationally in Japan and Italy, where we currently are enjoying life. When I’m not traveling, parenting, or writing for Little Trips, I’m studying Italian, reading, sewing or binge watching Netflix.
The Origins of Little Trips
When we moved to Italy I was frustrated by the lack of information about traveling around the country with young kids. The internet seemed saturated with horror stories or it seemed like nobody traveled with kids under 8 years old, and traveling with diapers and strollers takes some extra work. I’ve never called myself a writer, so though intimidating, the idea to write something myself just wouldn’t go away. I started making lists of topics I wanted to write about as we continued our travels around Europe. It took months for the idea of starting Little Trips to form in my mind and another few months before uttering it out loud to my husband followed by a few close friends. With their support I finally took the leap to start this new challenge and see what happened. Welcome to Little Trips!
